Peruvians are ready to make us laugh Web animation: the opportunity they where waiting for

LIMA, PERU. October 9, - Today three communication bachelors are setting the path for hundred of Peruvian animators. With a small investment and after six months of hard work, they are launching the first animated Peruvian story published on the Internet.

The idea is simple, its name: DK Project. This animation tells the story of a secret agency division. Its mission: to destroy any bad product delivered by the entertainment industry. Each week a new animation is published on their website regarding themes such us movies, politics or music. Pretty much it will cover anything that's on today's news.

It's interesting to realize how the internet is an invaluable communication media for those who want to make a start in the entertainment business. "In poor countries we don't have an entertainment industry. The marketplace offers almost no opportunity for jobs related to animation, television or communications. That's why we had to turn our attention from traditional media to focus our efforts in exploring opportunities in new media like the internet," says Roxana Vasquez, marketing director for DK Project.

When asked what they expected from this experience DK Project's team answered they wanted an audience to share their work with. In the future they will love to do this work for a living and they see the Internet as a media to archive this goal. "With DK Project we want to share our point. Do it in a funny, ironic and irreverent way." says Ernesto Bottger creative director.

The DK Project's team strongly believes there is an opportunity for their work in the cyberspace. "Reaching massive audiences and almost no investment needed was a dream for any of us here in Peru 5 years ago. Now it is so real and only a click away. We feel success will depend on our good work and in the opportunities we chase. So how can we possibly not give it a chance?" adds Bottger.

DK Project's team is form by 3 Peruvians friends Ernesto Bottger (24), Luis Casuso (26) and Roxana Vasquez (24). They met each other at the faculty of communications. Ernesto has developed expertise in animations working as a freelance in drawing storyboards for films and ads. Luis has been working in e-business' projects since a year ago and Roxana works in the marketing department of a business consulting firm. The team is launching this website for an international audience. They target a young American male audience. They have chosen this audience because they feel deeply influenced by the American pop culture. "Nearly a 90% of the shows we have being watching since we where born are made in North America. With the cable TV we have receive the same products simultaneously. We have laugh with their jokes, we cry their pains, now we want to share our opinion as well" adds Vasquez. Ê
